How the 21st Century Librarian Mentoring Program Works

  • 21st Century Librarian Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor who is a library professional in Nebraska.

  • The Nebraska Library Commission will match mentors and mentees, and will attempt to match participants by interests and geographic proximity.

  • Mentors and mentees may request a specific mentoring partner.

  • Mentors can also recruit potential mentees by attending career fairs and other events to present the public service announcement video or other marketing materials and handouts.

  • Participants will make a one-year commitment to mentoring.

  • Mentors will track their interactions with Mentees at the Nebraska Library Commission 21st Century Librarian Now hiring @ your library.Website,

  • Throughout the year, mentors and mentees will stay in touch through phone calls, email, on-line conferencing, in person, and at professional conferences.
